Ink Rally Racing on graph paper

Race on graph paper. Draw one shortcut every car can use.

Ink Rally is a turn based racing game on graph paper, on a phone or a computer. You race three bots, it is free, with no ads and no sign up, in English and Arabic, and it is new in the house: tell us how it feels.

How to play

  1. Every turn your car changes its speed by at most one square on each axis, and its speed carries over, so you brake for a corner turns before you reach it.
  2. Slide toward one of the nine dots around your car and lift to drive. A crossed out dot leaves the road: you spin out and sit out two turns.
  3. Take flag 1, then flag 2, then cross the line. The fewest turns wins.
  4. Once a race you may draw a cutline, a short straight road between two parts of the track. From the next turn it is road for every car, yours and your rivals'.
  5. Once a race you may drop a blot of ink on the road. A car that drives through it coasts its next turn with no steering, the car that dropped it too.
