Privacy policy
Imposter Draw is an online drawing game for friends, published by Playashe, which is run by Aly Elghayesh in Egypt. Aly Elghayesh is responsible for the data this page describes. This page explains what the game collects, why, and how you stay in control. In short: the game asks only for a name, a room keeps its game only while it lasts and then deletes it, we run no ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell data.
What we collect
- Your name: to play you type a name of up to 24 characters. We ask for nothing else: no email address, no password and no account.
- A room and its game: while a room lasts it keeps its code, the language of its words, every player's name, every line drawn, every vote and guess, and the clock of the turn. Each player is told apart by a random key that the game keeps on the device, and the room keeps only a hash of it.
- Technical data: your IP address is processed by our host while you are connected, to deliver the game. We do not store it, and the online service keeps no logs.
What stays on your device
Your language, the name you play with, whether you have seen the first hint, and the code of the room you are in with the key of your seat are saved on your device so the game remembers them. Deleting the app or clearing the site data removes them.
What we do not do
- We show no advertising and use no ad networks.
- We use no analytics or tracking tools and no third party SDKs in the app.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent your data.
How we use data
To run your room: to show your name to the players in it, to deal the secret cards, to check every line, vote and guess, to keep the clock of each turn, to bring you back into your game after a lost connection, and to fix problems.
What other players can see
The players in your room see your name and your lines, and they see your vote once every vote is in. Anyone who has the room's link or code can join before its game starts and again once it ends, so send them only to your friends. A player who joins after a game sees the names at the table and nothing of that game. The link also carries the name of the room's host. After each round any player in the room can share the drawing as a picture, which shows the word and the category and no names. Nobody outside the room sees anything: there are no accounts, no ratings and no leaderboard.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare hosts the website and the online rooms. It handles data only on our behalf and under our instructions. We may share data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
A room deletes everything it kept when it ends: when no game starts in it within a day, when every player has left it, when its game has no move for a day, or when the time after its game runs out, unless they play again. After a game the room stays while a player is in it, for at most 30 minutes after anyone last did anything, and it goes two minutes after the last player has gone. If a player sent its link or went back to its lobby, it waits up to a day, as a new room does. A player who was away when the game ended can still see the result for a day. Nothing is kept after that: no record of games, no ratings and no leaderboard.
Your choices and rights
You can leave a room at any time. If you leave before its game starts, your name goes from the room at once. If you leave during or after a game, your name and your lines stay until the room's next game begins or the room ends. The same goes if the host takes you out of the room between games. The name on your device goes when you clear the site data or delete the app. You can also ask about your data by writing to support@playashe.com. We reply within 30 days. Children
Imposter Draw is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to play.
Security
Connections use HTTPS and secure WebSockets. No system is perfectly secure, so play under a nickname rather than your full name, and never put anything private in it or in your drawing.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for important changes we tell you in the app.
