Privacy policy
Inkline (Dots and Boxes) is a game published by Playashe, which is run by Aly Elghayesh in Egypt. Aly Elghayesh is responsible for the data this page describes. This page explains what the game collects, why, and how you stay in control. In short: we collect only what accounts and online matches need, we run no ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell data.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your username and your password. The password is stored only as a salted hash, so nobody can read it, including us.
- Online play: the games you play online (who played, every move, each player's clock, the score, the winner and the time), your rating, your wins, losses and draws, and your best streak.
- Sign in sessions: when you sign in on a device we store a random token (as a hash), the text your browser or app sends to identify itself (the user agent) and when the session was last used, so you stay signed in. A session ends after 90 days without use.
- Guests: if you join a friend's room as a guest, we store only the name you type and that room's code, with a sign in session as above that ends after 2 days without use.
- Reports and blocks: if you report a player we store who reported whom, the reason you picked and the time.
- Technical data: your IP address is processed while you are connected, to keep the service running and to limit abuse such as repeated sign in attempts. It is not saved to your account.
Playing against the bot or on the same device works without a connection and sends nothing to us.
What stays on your device
Your language, sound setting, difficulty, board size, your results against the bot and your sign in token are saved on your device so the game remembers them. Deleting the app or clearing the site data removes them.
What we do not do
- We show no advertising and use no ad networks.
- We use no analytics or tracking tools and no third party SDKs in the app.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent your data.
How we use data
To create and secure your account, to match you with opponents, to keep ratings and the leaderboard, to send the password reset email when you ask for it, to review reports and keep the game fair, and to fix problems.
What other players can see
Your username, rating, wins, games played and best streak are visible on the leaderboard, and your opponents see your username and rating. Your email address is never shown to anyone.
Who processes data for us
We use hosting, database and email delivery providers to run the service. They handle data only on our behalf and under our instructions. We may share data when the law requires it or to protect players from abuse.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Password reset links expire after 30 minutes. When you delete your account we remove your email address, username, password hash and sign in sessions. Finished games stay in our records without any link to who you were, because your opponents' history depends on them. A guest's name and room code are removed 7 days after the guest was last seen.
Your choices and rights
You can change your username and password, and delete your account, inside the app under Account. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your data by writing to support@playashe.com. We reply within 30 days. The steps are on the delete account page.
Children
Inkline is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Security
Connections use HTTPS and secure WebSockets, and passwords are hashed with a slow, salted function. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for important changes we tell you in the app.
